Internets Crush: Gabe Delahaye

(more Gawker photos of him here)

I heard about stereogum from somewhere because they had a bunch of good free mp3s.  Then I was like, "what's videogum?" and hopped on over there.  This is when my love was born.  Gabe is a writer for Videogum and writes scathing reviews of current TV shows (LOST, Gossip Girl are my faves).

To find out if he was actually hot or not (IRL), I found some other fan write-ups.  It was kind of comforting to know that I wasn't alone on this one.  Also, through googlestalking him, I found out that two of my loves had converged:  This American Life and Gabe.  Bingo.
He did a segment for an episode on reputations where he went around to his friends and asked what they all thought of him.  Unfortunately they all thought he was an ahole and told him that.  Haha.

Here are some of my favorite Gabe reviews:

True/False: Food, Inc.

Although I wasn't able to go to the True/False film festival in Columbia, MO, this year, I heard that this was one of the best shown. I listened to a Michael Pollan lecture from TED.com and have wanted to read one of his books for awhile. He's a smart dude.

I don't care who you are, this...

So one of the freshmen in my bible study does Color Guard (like high school marching band color guard - the flag throwers).  So I went to see her compete in a color guard competition.  It was a cross-cultural experience.  Many of the performances were video-game/anime themed.  It was fantastic.

Lisa Hannigan - "Lille" (remember pop-up books?)

Lisa Hannigan - "I don't know"

I Dont Know - Lisa Hannigan

I don't know what you smoke or what countries you've been to if you speak any other languages other than your own, I'd like to meet you. I don't know if you drive, if you love the ground beneath you. I don't know if you write letters or panic on the phone, I'd like to call you all the same. if you want to, I am game.

I don't know if you can swim, if the sea has any draw for you. if you're better in the morning or when the sun goes down. I'd like to call you. I don't know if you can dance if the thought ever occurred to you. if you eat what you've been given or you push it round your plate I'd like to cook for you all the same, I would want to, I am game.

If you walk my way, I could keep my head we could creep away in the dark or maybe not, we could shoot it down anyway.

I don't know if you read novels or the magazines if you love the hand that feeds you. I assume that your heart's been bruised I'd like to know you. you don't know if I can draw at all or what records I am into. if I sleep like a spoon or rarely at all or maybe you would do? or maybe you would do.

if you walk my way I will keep my head we will feel our way through the dark though I don't know you I think that I would do I don't fall easy at all.
